2025年是药明康德成立25周年。

2000年成立至今,药明康德从一间650平米的实验室起步,发展成为在亚洲、欧洲和北美拥有20多个研发和生产基地,约3.8万名员工,服务全球数千家客户的全球性CRDMO平台。

25年,是药明康德走过的征程。这25年,是产业发展波澜壮阔的25年,也是许多药明康德人执着坚守的25年。在药明康德CRDMO一体化赋能平台上,他们追求极致,赋能创新,助力了许多新药好药早日问世,造福病患。

入职公司20年,从高级研究员一路成长为高级副总裁的彭宣嘉博士,在药明康德25周年荣耀盛典上,与大家分享了他一路走来的蜕变与突破。

大家好!我是彭宣嘉

今天第一次以这种类似TED的形式跟大家分享,心情很特别。

我的故事并不宏大,但我希望通过一些个人的经历,让大家看到药明康德人最真实的成长轨迹。

初出茅庐,专注成长

2005年,我通过公司的校园招聘拿到药明康德的offer,我想此刻现场和直播间应该有许多我的学弟学妹。

2006年6月伊始,我正式成为化学合成部的一名高级研究员。当时,我原本计划在积累一些经验后,再赴美国做博士后。然而,在公司的一年里,我被创业初期同事们的激情和使命感深深地感染。最后,我决定留在这里与药明康德一起成长。

我至今仍记得那句激励人心的公司标语:“学习,学习,再学习,提高,提高,再提高!”因为相信,所以选择留下。也正是这份相信,让我看见更远的未来。

无惧未知,突破自我

成长的过程从来不是一条直线,而是一次次的转型与突破。

2008年,我带领两个小组承接了药物化学项目。当时国内懂药化的人并不多,但公司为我们提供了大量的培训机会,并请来业界顶尖的专家指导,这使得我们迅速成长,客户也对我们的能力给予了高度认可。

那是我第一次深刻体会到:成长来自挑战,更来自平台的赋能。

2014年,我开始负责化学合成部的运营工作。在这个岗位上,我迎来了更多富有挑战性的任务,并有幸在李革博士的指导下参与了多个重要项目。我们推出首个手机APP WuXi V-lab,建立化学合成部培训体系,开发基于人员动态变化的资源管理系统等。

这些项目不仅提升了我的管理能力,也为我之后的跨界工作打下了坚实的基础。

2015年底至2017年,我逐步负责公司的电商——览博网和供应链业务。这段时间是我职业生涯中最具挑战的两年。一方面是跨界知识的欠缺,另一方面是跨国团队整合的难度。在这个过程中,我多次经历自我怀疑,但公司管理层的支持让我坚持下来,并成功应对了这些挑战。

那段经历让我明白:真正的成长,是放下对未知的恐惧。

追求极致,勇敢跨界

2007年,我主动请缨负责公司的DEL项目。在公司全力支持和团队的共同努力下,我们从晚入局者迅速成为业界的引领者。我越来越坚信:极致的投入,能让我们从追随者变成引领者。

2020年,我被任命为公司的副总裁,并组建HitS事业部。

2021年底,在组建自动化部时,管理层对我提出了更高的要求——穷尽所能推动公司的自动化进程。当时的我更加成熟,与同事们一起努力将流动化学、运筹学等能力,在公司实现规模化应用。

从去年开始,我在药明康德又有了新的角色。我的职责拓展到WuXi Biology和WuXi Testing两大业务平台。

这些经历让我成为了公司战略的坚定信仰者和执行者,更让我对公司的核心价值观有了更深入的认识。“诚实敬业,共苦共享,做对的事,把事做好。”每当我遇到犹豫或抉择时,这句话都会让我更加的坚定。

直面挑战,向新而行

项目组问我,能不能跟大家说说这些看似一帆风顺的成长背后有着什么样的挑战?

我觉得,每个阶段都有不同纬度的困难,但是不管在什么岗位、什么年龄阶段,最大的挑战往往是同一个,那就是个人认知的局限。认知上的局限,是我们工作中最大的敌人。

那么应对这样的挑战,我有一套自己的心法分享给大家。

  • 药明康德人才观:“有梦想,有驱动力,热爱学习,创造价值”。

  • 五多:多听、多想、多说、多写、多讨论,保持不断学习的能力。

  • 努力很重要,方法更重要,结果最重要。面对问题,我们要不断思考,最好的解决方法,最终以解决问题为目标。

  • 药明康德是一个能够助力员工成长、实现自我价值的优秀平台,只要我们“想干事、能干事”,公司都会赋能与支持我们,我们也一定能:干成事!

在今天这样一个场合,我很荣幸与大家分享我的故事。

总结这些经历有三点感触,作为我演讲的收尾,送给大家。

  • 坚信:首先,要坚信我们伟大的愿景,“让天下没有难做的药,难治的病。”其次,坚信我们独特的CRDMO模式,上下游引流,加上极致运营,我们一定能更好地赋能合作伙伴!

  • 向新:让我们始终保持赤子之心,不断向前,去突破,去成长,一起造福病患!

Hello everyone! I’m Xuanjia Peng.

Today’s TED-style format for today’s celebration makes it truly special. My story may not be grand, but I hope that by sharing my personal experiences, you’ll gain a real sense of what it’s like to grow and develop as an employee at WuXi AppTec.

Focus on Growth

In 2005, I received an offer from WuXi AppTec through campus recruitment. By June 2006, I officially joined the Chemical Synthesis Department as a Senior Researcher. At this time, my plan was simply to gain experience before pursuing a postdoctoral position in the U.S.

However, during my first year at WuXi AppTec, I was deeply inspired by the passion and sense of mission shared by my colleagues. After careful consideration, I decided to stay and grow together with WuXi AppTec.

I still remember the company’s inspiring slogan: "Keep learning. Keep improving."Belief keeps me here and opens my eyes to a brighter future.

Be Bold, Break Your Limits

Growth is never a straight line. It is a journey of transformations and breakthroughs.

In 2008, I led two teams on medicinal chemistry projects. At the time, few people in China had deep expertise in this field, but the company provided extensive training and brought in world-leading experts as mentors. With the support we grew rapidly, earning high recognition from our clients.

It was then that I first realizedgrowth comes from challenges, but even more from the platform’s empowerment.

In 2014, I began overseeing the operations in the Chemical Synthesis Department. I faced increasingly complex tasks and had the privilege of contributing to several major projects thanks to Dr. Ge Li’s guidance. During this period, we not only just launched our first mobile app, WuXi V-lab, but also established a training system, and a dynamic resource management system as well.

These projects not only strengthened my management skills, but also laid a solid foundation for my future cross-disciplinary work.

From late 2015 to 2017, I led the company's e-commerce business, WuXi LabNetwork, and supply chain operations. The lack of cross-disciplinary expertise and the complexity of cross-border integration made this the most challenging period of my career. I struggled with self‑doubt, but the guidance of leadership management kept me moving forward, ultimately helping me navigate these challenges successfully.

Through this journey, I learned thattrue growth is being bold in the face of the unknown.

Pursue Excellence, Explore New Frontiers

In 2007, I led the DEL project. With full support from the company and the dedication of our team, we transformed from a latecomer to an industry leader. My key takeaway is this:full dedication turns followers into leaders.

In 2020, I was appointed Vice President and established the HitS business unit. By the end of 2021, when the Automation Department was being built, management team set an even higher expectation, which is to do everything possible to advance automation process across the company.

By then, I had accumulated extensive experience and, together with my colleagues, drove the large-scale application of flow chemistry, operations research, and other advanced capabilities throughout the company.

Last year, I had a new role at WuXi AppTec, taking on expanded responsibilities overseeing WuXi Biology and WuXi Testing. These experiences have strengthened my conviction in and commitment to the company’s strategy, while deepening my understanding of our core values:“Integrity & Dedication, Working Together & Sharing Success; Doing the Right Thing, Doing It Right.”

Whenever I face challenges, uncertainties, or important decision to make, these core values guide my actions and fortify my resolve.

Embrace Challenges, Innovate for the Future

The organizing committee asked me to share the challenges behind what might appear to be a smooth path of growth.

From my perspective, each stage comes with its own difficulties. Yet, regardless of role or age, the greatest challenge is often the same: the limits of our own thinking.Limit thinking is our biggest workplace foe.

I want to share how I address such challenges:

  • Be aspirational, self-driven, passionate about learning and value creation, as defined in our talent outlook.

  • Never stop learning.

  • Effort counts, strategy counts more, and results count the most. We should keep reflecting and strive to find the best solutions, always aiming to resolve them.

  • WuXi AppTec is an outstanding platform that empowers employees to grow and unlock their full potential. As long as we arewillingandcapable, the company provides the support we need tosucceed.

Believe, Innovate, Together

I am honored to share my story with you on this special occasion.

In reflecting on these experiences, I have three key insights that I would like to share with you as the conclusion of my speech.

  • Believe– Let’s stay true to our vision that “Every drug can be made, and every disease can be treated.” Focus on our unique CRDMO model, strengthen the conversion across stages, and continuously improve operational efficiency. In doing so, we will create value to our customers and partners.

  • Innovate– Let us push beyond limits, and strive to make a meaningful impact for patients worldwide.

  • Together– Willing, capable, and successful. As we embark on the next 25 years, let's work together, stay motivated, and create even greater possibilities. Thank you!
