盛唐诗人王昌龄以 “七绝圣手” 之名垂范诗史。世人多称颂其边塞诗慷慨雄浑,却常忽视他在送别、闺怨、宫怨题材上登峰造极的笔墨。王昌龄诗作大致分为边塞、闺怨、羁旅赠别三大门类,每一类皆流传千古的巅峰佳作。写宫闺幽怨,他是盛唐最擅描摹深宫女子心事的诗人,情思幽深、写景灵妙、比兴贴切、造语新奇,独步一时,明代王世贞直言盛唐七绝唯有王昌龄可与李白并列,同入“神品”;杨慎亦评“龙标绝句无一篇不佳”。
其送别诗存五十二首,约占存世诗作四分之一。融万般离愁于山水风物间:既有 “一片冰心在玉壶” 不染尘俗的君子气节,有 “青山一道同云雨”跨越山海的豁达情谊,亦有 “寂寂寒江明月心” 绵长清冷的缱绻思念,拓开盛唐送别诗全新审美境界。
