女画家徐芽冬，五代南唐著名画家徐熙第五十代后裔。1954年冬天生于浙江省永康市历史文化名村——“双锦”，先祖徐纲、徐纪兄弟俩，在宋朝皇佑年间一举同科进士，双双衣锦还乡。朝庭旌裱其里曰“双锦”，村由此名。宋初建村后，十八进士联翩成行中有诗人、文学家、士大夫。
深厚文蕴孕育了她的丹青、诗文禀赋。其画含诗、诗中蕴画，诗魂铸就画魂。长期的绘画生涯中苦心求索。三更灯火，五更鸡，孜孜不倦。善画山水、花鸟、人物；无所不精。尤擅水墨大写意。画风深得明代画家徐渭遗韵。她一改女性柔漫之气，沉雄奔放，淋漓泼辣，纵横恣肆。挥洒自如，变无声的画而有声。她的每幅画图，俨然一部交响乐曲。
