Jun, a shy graphic designer, found it on a rainy Saturday while looking for shelter.
Inside, rows ofvinyl recordslined the shelves, their covers worn but beautiful.
At the back of the shop stood a corner labeled“Mystery Picks.”
It was a rack of records with no labels—just plain sleeves and handwritten tracklists.
A note read:
“Buy one, leave one. Music knows where it’s meant to go.”
Jun picked a record and, on impulse, slipped in a note of her own:
“To whoever finds this—if this song makes you feel something, write me back. Leave it in the next mystery sleeve. —J”
She didn’t expect anything.
But a week later, she returned.
And in a sleeve, she found a reply:
“Side B, track 3 made me cry. Are you always this brave with strangers? —E”
And so it began—
A series of notes hidden inside B sleeves.
Some silly, some thoughtful, some deeply honest.
They never exchanged names or numbers.
Only music. And feelings.
Each week, Jun would return, heart racing, wondering what “E” had left this time.
Until one day, she found a record wrapped in red twine.
No note. Just a post-it on the front:
“Listen with headphones. Meet me at 4PM. I’ll be the one wearing a David Bowie pin.”
She listened.
Side B, track 1: A soft indie song that spoke of missed chances and found moments.
At 4PM, Jun waited outside the shop.
A boy walked up, headphones around his neck, a David Bowie pin gleaming on his coat.
“You came,” he said.
Jun smiled.
“Music knew where we were meant to go.”
